Better transport infrastructure

Lobbying Government and the County Council to invest in road and rail to improve our connections, including the Robin Hood line, the A60 and the A617.

Response from Network Rail

A week or so ago my local colleagues Mark Fletcher MP, Mark Spencer and I wrote to East Midlands Railway about the Robin Hood line to reconfirm our commitment to getting this project delivered.

Robin Hood Line Extension

Mark Spencer and I have written to East Midlands trains urging them to back the Robin Hood Line extension ahead of the submission of a detailed business case this summer.

You can read the letter below:

Road Improvements

The Government has announced a multi-billion investment in our roads and railways, helping to support our economic recovery and level-up infrastructure across the country.

HS2 update

Pleased that we finally have a decision on HS2 and we can crack on with some certainty! There's nothing worse than never-ending delays

Pushing for new rail lines in Mansfield

I'm pleased to welcome Government plans to invest £500 million in restoring previously lost rail lines and I've pledged to make the case for new rail services in Mansfield with the Transport Secretary.

£500m to help restore Beeching rail lines

This week, Government formally opened the funding to reopen old disused railway lines with some announcements about new projects.

Opening up the funding means another manifesto commitment has been delivered, and it's good news for our Robin Hood Line proposals.

Earlier this week, I spoke to ITV Central about HS2 and leaked documents suggesting that a big review doesn't have any clear answers. It seems to recommend a six month delay and further investigation.

Robin Hood Line

Earlier this week I met the Transport Secretary along with Nottinghamshire colleagues from Sherwood, Ashfield and Bolsover to press the case for our Robin Hood Line extension proposals.

A60 Update

I've been chasing Government to hold them to election commitments on investment in Mansfield and was delighted to receive a response from the Transport Secretary about the A60 Sainsbury's Junction.

The campaign continues!

Today's Mansfield Chad highlights our campaign to extend the Robin Hood Line rail service across Warsop and North Notts, where I've been working for several years with my colleague, Mark Spencer, to connect our rural towns for work and leisure.
