Ben Bradley MP is delighted with today’s announcement that over £300 million has been made available to attract and develop world-class teachers for schools across the country.
Teacher quality is the single biggest determinant of a pupil’s success, and Government is determined to attract the best teachers to give every child the opportunity to fulfil their potential.
That is why £300 million is being invested to attract new, high-quality teachers, including bursaries of £15,000 for those teaching languages, geography, design and technology, and £10,000 for biology teachers. Teachers will also be offered access to free leadership qualifications.
Ben is delighted that Government is doing everything possible to ensure children receive a top quality education. He recently welcomed the announcement of a £3,000 ‘levelling up premium’, which will incentivise teachers to work in disadvantaged areas and tough schools.
After urging Government to invest in traineeships, the Mansfield MP is also pleased that £126 million is being invested to create more training opportunities and placements for young people. Ben has consistently argued for more investment in skills to benefit areas like Mansfield and Warsop.
Commenting, Ben Bradley MP said:
“It’s fantastic that Government is prioritising skills and education for young people. This policy area is my passion and I’ve consistently pushed for more opportunities for young people – university isn’t the right fit for everyone and it’s vital that we create an alternative route. I know that this £126m investment will directly benefit young people across Mansfield and Warsop, who will be able to undertake placements and kickstart their careers.
“I’m also delighted with the steps being taken to attract world-class teachers for schools. It’s vital that we bring high-quality teachers to constituencies like mine in order to help students thrive and succeed in the years to come.”
