Ben Bradley MP for Mansfield and Warsop has today welcomed the announcement of a £50 million funding boost for the T Levels programme. This funding will be used to expand and improve teaching spaces for T Level courses, increasing the capacity for providers to deliver high quality technical education.
The £50 million funding boost comes ahead of new courses being added to the T Levels programme in September, such as Health, Science and Onsite Construction. With over 250 employers working in partnership with the T Levels programme, this funding will help ensure those partnerships are backup by world class facilities and increased capacity.
As a Further Education Ambassador, Ben has consistently urged Government to revolutionise skills and technical education. He has made the case for young people across Mansfield and Warsop to ensure they have the opportunity to gain skills and experience needed to progress into well-paid jobs, further study or an apprenticeship.
Today’s announcement builds on the £133 million made available to support providers delivering T Levels in 2020 and 2021, including funding given to all new T Level providers to purchase specialist equipment so students have access to the equipment they will use when they get a job. Further funding is expected to be awarded later in the year.
Ben Bradley MP was quoted as saying:
“I’ve been using my position as a Further Education Ambassador to encourage Government to revolutionise skills and technical education, so today’s announcement of an extra £50 million is really welcome! With new courses being added to the T Levels programme, as well as the T Levels programme proving hugely popular, it is important we have the capacity and facilities to cater to the students' needs."
“These qualifications are a real game changer for young people across Mansfield and Warsop by expanding the choice for students in how they want to further their skills. I look forward to more and qualifications being added to this programme and more employers partnering with the scheme as it proves a success into the future.”
