I am delighted with the news that £165 million of new funding will be available to provide much-needed support to families with deep rooted problems.
The funding for the Troubled Families programme will provide intensive support for some of the most vulnerable families.
Working with the whole family unit across local services, with a focus on early intervention, the programme has a proven track record of driving reforms across public services.
The funding will be used to tackle complex inter-connected problems including unemployment, poor school attendance, mental health issues, anti-social behaviour and domestic abuse.
It is fantastic that Government has extended funding. It's vital to have this collaborative work across different service providers targeted at the most vulnerable or 'at risk' families. Already we have seen a reduction in the number of children going into care, and in adults going to prison or being out of work.
Whilst I'm delighted with the progress that has been made so far, there's clearly more to do, which is why this funding is so welcome.
Really pleased to see a continued commitment to support some of Mansfield's most vulnerable families and children.
