Let's Expand our Trade

As US trade talks continue and Government lays out the possible advantages new agreements could bring to our economy, the Express have been covering my thoughts on why we need to be less reliant on just a handful of countries for our trade.

To learn from COVID19 and adapt we need to have a broader range of trading partners, including the USA, and be less reliant on a small number of nations in times like this when those supply lines could be reduced or cut off. That's the best way to ensure we can always get what we need, as well as giving consumers the most choice.

Through these negotiations we can ensure a deal is beneficial for British businesses and protect ourselves where we need to, including on food hygiene standards.
