My adjournment debate on full-time social action
May 9, 2019
Last night my adjournment debate took place in Parliament. I spoke about Social Action and volunteering, pushing Government to do more to facilitate the kind of experiences that benefit both individual volunteers and our communities.
As someone who spent a very happy decade in the Scouts and doing schemes like the Duke of Edinburgh award, I know the benefits of volunteering and engaging in these experiences.
I'm pleased that the Minister takes youth work and youth services so seriously in her very broad and varied role.
I also got to name drop loads of great local charities and community groups and praise the work done by volunteers in Mansfield!
